Rafting is an outdoor activity that uses an inflatable raft and paddles to navigate a body of water… usually rough water, better known as whitewater! Rafting for fun has been a popular recreational activity since the 1950’s, but can also be an extreme sport with many risks, depending on how wild the water is!

Tap is a type of dance where the dancer uses shoes with special plates on the heel and toe to create a rhythm when it strikes the floor. There are many styles of tap, including rhythm tap, classical tap, and Broadway tap. Tap is believed to have originated in the United States through fusion of several different types of dance, including tribal dances, clog dances, and jigs. On today’s episode, Brittany and Kira will be instructed in the genre of tap dance by Majiza Phillip, whose grandmother is a famous tap dancer who came to Montreal from Harlem with Cab Calloway.

You may recognize him from his roles on Blackstone and Delmer & Marta, or you may have heard that he’s produced a few films and web series himself, but it’s time to get to know DARCY WAITE as host of That’s AWSM! Outgoing, sporty, goofy, warm, and entertaining, Darcy is down to try any and all of our AWSM activities… unfortunately he doesn’t often get to! He can recite every single line from every Will Ferrell movie ever made, and isn’t too crazy about vegetables, but there is nothing he loves more than meeting teens from communities all over Canada and helping them live their best AWSM lives – which makes him the perfect guy for the job!
